The Nursery

I'm finally playing catch-up with my camera tonight, so you'll have to excuse the picture-heavy posts. We are ALMOST done with little man's nursery, so I thought I'd show off some photos of it. It will probably look much better once there's a beautiful baby boy in it!

My inspiration for the nursery was to do something a little more vintage/traditional/romantic. It's not as "shabby chic" as I would have liked, but I think I did okay, considering (1) he's a boy and let's face it - it's hard to find a look that walks that fine line and (2) I don't have a champagne budget!

Here's what the (almost) end result looks like.

The crib:

The wall letters (paint and ribbons compliments of yours truly!):

A shelf with shadow boxes (painted by me and added some fun little animals):

Our awesome glider chair:

The tall dresser, with a round mirror and adorable puppy dog piggy bank:

The other dresser/changer:

Close-ups of the crib bedding and mobile:

The light fixture:

The window/valance:

This shot is a little blurry, but the closet it quickly filling up with clothes, shoes and blankets, as well as my awesome orange leather diaper bag and our stroller/carseat:

We're getting there. Just a few last minute touches and this room will be ready to go. I can't believe we're at 29 days and counting!!

Shower Time!

Sorry for the BIG delay on this post - but I finally got my hands on a card reader so I could add new pictures.

On May 7th, we celebrated the impending arrival of our little "firework" Baby Ronan. My sister picked out a "Red, White & Blue" theme in honor of Ronan's due date of July 6th. She and my mom did a great job decorating my house to the nines:

The diaper cake:

The adorable party favors:

We had lots of yummy food (thanks to Ashley and Chris also!):

And an AWESOME dessert table:

We played a fun game of trivia, where the guests had to guess whether a childhood event happened to Matt, myself or both of us. Those who guessed correctly got a prize - and those who guessed wrong.....had to wear an adult diaper! I really enjoyed the creative liberties that all the "losers" took with how to "wear" their diaper:

Annnnnd of course we had to get a group shot of the losers!

We are SO blessed to have such wonderful, loving and generous friends and family - we were completely spoiled with baby clothes, blankets, diapers, toys, etc. Here are a few pictures of the gift opening:

And, here is the end result!

Thank you to EVERYONE who helped us celebrate our baby-to-be, we are truly blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives!!
